Mir Imran is the Chairman & CEO of InCube Labs, a life sciences applied research lab & incubator, focused on developing and commercializing breakthrough medical innovations. Mir is the Managing Director of InCube Ventures LP, a life science venture capital fund.  He is also the Chairman and CEO of Rani Therapeutics, an exciting biotech company that has developed a unique approach for the oral delivery of peptides, proteins and antibodies.   Rani spun out of InCube in 2012.

After attending medical school, Mir began his career as a healthcare entrepreneur in the late 1970's and has founded more than 20 life sciences companies since those early days, 15 of which have been acquired or went public. Mir’s passion is creating novel therapies that have the potential to positively impact the lives of millions of patients, and he has become one of the leading inventors and entrepreneurs in the field. Mir holds more than 600 issued and pending US patents and is perhaps most well-known for his pioneering contributions to the first FDA-approved Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD).  Mir is a fellow of the National academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Inventors and the American Institute of Medical & Biological Engineers.  Mir serves on the board of the Lemelson Foundation and is an Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh.
