A serial entrepreneur for most of his life John has started many businesses across different industries Automotive, Hospitality, Real estate, Media and High Tech.

Born in Argentina, John has lived in Silicon Valley for forty years he moved to San Jose California in 1976 to start a large truck fleet painting business, which he sold three years later.

For most of his business career John was involved in Motorsports, he founded Della Penna Motorsports a company that participated in the Indy Car Series called “Championship Auto Racing Teams” (CART)

Della Penna Motorsports won a contract to work with Toyota to develop an all-new engine for the Toyota Indy-Car series the phase VI engine. John and his team worked with designers and engineers to help design test and develop the engine, which in 2002 won the championship.

His team was sponsored by some of the biggest names in American Business. Anheuser Busch, Budweiser, Fuji Film Ford Toyota, Firestone, among others.  He participated in the IPO of “Championship Auto Racing Teams” (Valued at over $400,000,000 Four hundred million dollars. CART traded in the NYSE under the ticker symbol “MPH”

During his tenure as a team owner at Della Penna Motorsports John was responsible for raising over 40MM in sponsorship for the team from major companies like Anheuser Busch, Fuji Film, Ralphs Supermarkets, Toyota, Goodyear and others.

While auto racing has been the thrust of John’s business career he has been successful in a number of endeavors across several different areas of business which include a hospitality and real estate, businesses in media and automotive as well as investments in high tech companies.

John has invested in a number of technology startups he is a member of Sand Hill Angels one of the most active angel investment groups in the US. He led several investment deals and is an early investor in companies like: Flywheel, (where he acted as the CMO) a taxi hailing app which raised over 30MM in VC investments, “Water-smart” a water tracking analytics Software Company selling to utilities, Raised
